DULCIMERS

Ever since Cooper got to see the Dulcimer Band at the Fall Festival in Nov. at Armand Bayou, he has loved dulcimers.  Not to mention that the child is in love with any musical instrument.  Well, the band was back.  Today was Senior Day at Armand Bayou, but we figured that Seniors wouldn’t mind and with the temp. being below 50 this morning, we figured that most of the Seniors would not be getting out.  We called ahead and sure enough the band was coming!

We headed over to the Nature Park and had fun getting our own private concert.  Cooper got a free t-shirt with a dulcimer, guitar, harpsichord, and autoharp on it.  it is way to big, but it is fun to look at all the pictures on it.  We bought a CD this time, however, I was a little disappointed because the CD has singing on it!  However, we can jam with the violins, dulcimers, harmonicas, banjo…just to name a few.

We also got to see the animals that they have in the nature house.  Armand Bayou 3-14 002Armand Bayou 3-14 004

After the band and the short nature walk, we took one last look at the buffalo.  They were actually close to the look out point today. At this point, Coop’s hands were quite cold.  We headed home for some pancakes, eggs, and sausage for lunch.  Dad’s favorite lunch on the weekends.  Fun Fun Fun.
